Salthill Devon U16 Girls completed the ‘Quadruple’ on Friday Night

Unbeaten in all competitions locally and nationally since Sept 2014, the team went on to win the 2015 WFAI Irish cup, 2015 Connacht Cup (delayed until March 2016), the 2014/15 Galway District League and the 2014/15 Galway District league cup.

The latest achievement was a hard fought win in Extra time (3-1) against a resilient Kilkerrin United in Drom on Friday night in the Connacht Cup Final. With the Goals coming from Player of the match Sadhbh Doyle and Heather Payne.  Another first is the fact that the team fielded with the most Irish capped players ever in one Salthill Devon team.

Sadhbh Doyle & Heather Payne U17 (heading to the U17 Euro Finals in France this week so best of luck to them), Aoife Lynagh, Lilly Hengerer, Meghen Hengerer and Lucia Lobata U15 (Heading to Wales to represent Ireland in the Bob Doherty cup best of luck to them too)…We also know that one of our players will feature at The FAI awards …more to come on that.

Behind every great team are people who help the players reach their potential and Manager/Coach Mark Hengerer moulded the team into an unbeatable force. Alan McNevin Goalkeeper coach worked tirelessly with Ria McPhilibin who has the honour of winning an U16 Irish Cup at the old age of 13 !

Meábh DeBurca (former Salthill Devon and Current Irish Senior Women’s player) Asst Coach a club inspiration to the girls and finally  the Omnipresent Pat Lawless Asst Manager and Club Secretary make up the quartet  management team.
