This weekend Drom Soccer Park will host 2 Connaght Cup quarter final games. Phil Trill’S U16s welcome Strand Celtic from Sligo on Sunday with a 2:00pm kick-off while Kenny Gavin and Rory Ginty’s U14s entertain a much fancied St Francis from Athlone on Saturday also at 2:00pm. Both travelling teams are expected to bring large support with them so Salthill Devon members and supporters are encouraged to attend the games and cheer on their club mates.

Salthill Devon’s Girls U12 As continue to lead the way in the Premier League after a comprehensive victory over a gallant Craughwell Utd under lights in Drom last Tuesday night. Caoimhe Nic Aodha opened the scoring with a beautiful strike into the top corner before Emily Fitzgerald took over by the scoring honours with 5 further goals. Manager Shane Fitzgerald was glad to welcome back Kasia and Daria from injury and was very pleased with the performance from all the girls.

Tommy McClean’s U13 As overcame neighbours knocknacarra FC on Saturday morning in Drom. Dylan Devine opened the scoring when he skilfully beat his opponent before shooting into far corner from a tight angle. Mathew Thompson increased the lead before half time following a mazy run beating 3 players before curling a sweet strike into top corner with his left foot. Aaron McIntyre completed the scoring to complete a satisfactory afternoon for the Seagulls.

The U16 As ran out convincing winners also against Knocknacarra in the Premier League. Sean O Brien with a first half hat-trick, Jake Begley (2), Sean Quinn and Finnán O Connor were on target for Phil Trill’s exciting team. Pat Lawless’ U15 Division 1 team suffered their first loss in the league this season when they were defeated 4-2 by Colemanstown on Saturday afternoon. They now trail Kiltullagh by a single point with just one game remaining for both teams.

It’ll be a busy weekend for the Nipper Academy as the U7s host Knocknacarra tomorrow (Saturday) morning and a selection of the U9s and U10s host Knoacknacarra and Colga respectively on Saturday afternoon.
