Salthill Devon’s Junior Premier League team recorded successive league victories for the first time this season after beating Galway Hibs 4-1 in Drom last Friday night. Martin Coady with a hat-trick and John Kennedy were the scorers for Marek Kyrnicki’s vastly improving side. They play Corrib Rangers this Friday in Drom for a place in this year’s Michael Byrne Cup final.
The youth team defeated Mervue Utd 3-1 in the Galway Cup.

The U15 As suffered heartbreak in the SFAI National Cup. They lost out on a place in the last sixteen after Balbriggan of Dublin scored two late goals to see them advance on a 3-2 scoreline.

Mike Murray and Greg Quinn’s U12 As secured a derby victory over neighbours Knocknacarra with a 2-1 win in the Galway Cup. Dylan Devine scored in the first half with a well drilled shot to the bottom left corner and Darren Darcy propped up with the all-important winner ten minutes from time after Knocknacarra had equalised.

Jacinta Griffin and Rachel O Rourke’s U12s undoubtedly team took the ‘Team of the Week’ award as they secured a memorable victory away to Athenry in the league. The boys performed excellently and the result was just reward for the hard work and dedication put in by the players and their coaches.

The U12 Bs had an emphatic victory away to Corrib Celtic. Charlie Cox bagged a hat-trick with Sam Finneran and Mikey Greaney also on the scoresheet.

The U11 Bs took on Knocknacarra in a friendly on Saturday morning. George Beketovs with a brace and Ben Murphy scored for the Seagulls.

On the academy front the U9s hosted Bearna-na-Forbeacha in Drom under lights on Friday night. There were great skills on show from the stars of the future while this weekend the U11 As and Bs host Limerick’s Aisling Annacotty on Saturday afternoon. The U9s host Mervue also on Saturday afternoon with the U8s travelling in the opposite direction to Mervue on Saturday morning in another action packed weekend.
