Craughwell Utd 0 - 8 Salthill Devon A No league fixture for over 4 weeks and postponed games due to horrendous weather meant that Salthill came into this potential banana skin away fixture without a recent competitive game behind them. Sean Lally still abscent epitimised the team spirit within this team whilst knowing that he is still 8 weeks away from returning to action made the journey to Craughwell to support him team mates. The pitch was deemed playable although there was heavy surface water on both wide areas of the pitch which made dribbling a no go for the game. Ben Murphy was a late withdrawal due to illness and Colin Hanbury was also unavailable. Salthill Devon started well and dominated from the kick off. 2 early goals from Dillon Murphy and Garbhann Malone followed by a brave header from Eoghan Stenson meant that the result was never in doubt. A second goal from Dillon Murphy meant it was 4-0 at the interval. At half time, Aaron Murtagh, Niall Murray and Eric Ohlstrom were introduced. Devon continued to dominate and it wasnt long before both strikers, Dillon Murphy and Eoghan Stenson completed their hat tricks respectively. Stenson notched a fourth and Garbhann Malone scored his first goal for Devon. The game served its purpose in getting a competitive game played, both strikers getting on the scoresheet, Chris Healy returning from injury along with Alex Byrne & Diarmuid Fadden. All players involved played well.
