Mike Quirke is a UEFA license coach and brings a wealth of playing experience to the table. He played for Galway United for over ten seasons in the League of Ireland and joined Emlyn Long to coach the successful under 21 squad four years ago. Last season their squad gained promotion to the League of Ireland 1st Division by winning their A Championship group before losing out to a last minute Shamrock Rovers goal in the A Championship final.

Mike has shown an ability to get the best out of all his players whether they are veterans or youngsters making their way in the game. He demands commitment, but also his creative approach allows the players to express themselves and feel comfortable and confident.

Emlyn Long has risen through the ranks and successfully coached & managed several underage squads at Salthill Devon. He is a UEFA B license coach.

Five years ago he managed his under 17’s to the Youth's section title of the Umbro Galway Cup. He followed that up by bringing the 2006 Eircom League under 21 title to Drom, when his squad overcame Cork City on an historic night at Terryland Park. Last season’s senior side topped their group before narrowly losing out to Shamrock Rovers in the A Championship Play-Off Final. This achievement brought with it promotion to the League of Ireland 1st Division.

Emlyn is a tough task master and a stickler for detail – qualities that are essential at League of Ireland level.
